Well, I had my 1st visit with my Periantalogist yesterday. His name is Dr. Robertson and he is great. Matt and I really liked him a lot so that is awesome as he will be our primary doctor for the rest of the pregnancy. We had an ultrasound done and the baby is looking great. Dr. R took a lot of different measurements of the head. He even showed us the spine and said the stomach was developing correctly. One thing I really liked about the office was that they have a TV screen across from the exam beds that you can see the ultrasound on so you are not trying to crane your neck to look at their small screen. He also told us that it was looking like a normal 14 week pregnancy to him which was very reassuring.
Other good news is that as of right now I do not need a cervical stitch! My RE had mentioned this as a possibility but Dr. R said that at this time it did not appear necessary. My cervix was measuring in the normal length so that is awesome. He even did a pressure test by putting pressure on my abdomen to see if the cervix contracted or not. It didn't, which is good. He will be monitoring me every 2 weeks to check the cervix and make sure it is not shortening. If it starts to shorten, then we will put in a stitch.
We did not get a full body picture this time, as he was measuring the head and other things more but that is ok, we will get a better one another time. Also, we did find out the sex of the baby, but I am going to leave you hanging for a while. We have decided to keep it to ourselves until Christmas. So, I will leave you to wait and wonder for 2 more weeks! :) I know, I am mean!

Ok, that's not fair. But let the record show I am guessing girl (but only if I'm right;-).
I am glad that everything is progressing well for you. Congrats!
