36 week appointment
Wow, I never thought I would make it this far. It is truly a miracle that we have made it as far as we have. My appointment went well. They did an u/s and little guy was looking good. He even did breathing without us having to wait for 10 minutes!! They checked his fluid levels which are still normal. He was moving and shaking all around which was great. I did not have an NST because he was moving well on the u/s and they know I am contracting. My contractions have been continuing all week after my trip to L&D. I was hoping to see some progress today that at least told me that all these contractions were doing something. It turned out that they are. I am now 1-2cm dilated and 90% effaced! It was great to see progress. Hopefully this means that things are going to keep progressing and he may be making his appearance soon. Honestly at this point I am getting so uncomfortable that it would be welcome. The last few days, my feet and ankles have decided to start swelling big time. I have 1 pair of sandles that I can wear and even those half cut off the circulation. At 36 weeks health wise he is great. When I asked the dr. today about it he told me that 95% of babies born at this gestation go home with you. That made me feel better to hear. So I am officially off of bedrest! YAY!! I plan on doing some walking this weekend hoping that it might move things along a little bit. My contractions are getting stronger but are not close enough together to be considered active yet. (Gotta hit 5 min. apart first) I am off my Nifedipine so it is just a matter of time. It would be great to have a Mother's Day baby! Matt bought me a pair of emerald stud earrings for Mothers Day. (Emerald is May's birthstone). They are very pretty and I was so excited to recieve my 1st Mother's Day gift. My next appointment is scheduled for Tuesday, if I make it that far!!

Whoohooo! I'm so impressed, and a little jealous, that you've made it this far! Good luck with L&D and hope your little guy shows up in time for Mother's Day. Best present ever huh? Can't wait!
