The Wait Continues.....
Well, not much new to report. Still just waiting for Tuesday. People have asked me how I feel and it is a difficult question to answer. I am on progesterone and it mimicks symptoms of pregnancy so it is really hard to say. I am now 5dp5dt (this means 5 days past a 5 day transfer). It is still too early to do a pregnancy test so I am not going to torture myself with a false negative. It is possible to get a positive at this point but not likely. I will be 8dp5dt when I have my Beta. This is about average and if I am pregnant, some sort of HCG will be in my system. People have also been asking me if I am going to do a home pregnancy test before I go for my blood test. The answer is yes, the morning of. Matt and I get up at the same time so we are going to do the test together. If it comes up positive, we will have some good news to look forward to. If it comes up negative, then we will be prepared for the call from the doctor. Now home pregnancy tests are not 100% accurate. Your HCG has to be at a certain level for it to be detected so if the HPT is negative it is still possible to have a positive Beta but not likely. They will draw my blood Tuesday morning and then call me a few hours later with the results. If it is negative, then Matt and I will discuss where we will go from here. If it is positive (anything over a 5 is positive), then I would go back in on Thursday for a 2nd Beta. They would then check to make sure my HCG levels are doubling. If they are not, then there may be a problem with the pregnancy. Usually they only do 2 or 3 Betas before they would have an ultrasound. We are hoping for a positive result so please keep praying and sending the good vibes this way!!! I will keep you updated!!

LOts of LUCK!
Wish you lots of luck with this. I totally agree with taking a HPT the morning of beta... this way your DH is around for the initial news. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. :)
BTW, thanks for letting me know about starting the PIO shots earlier on the IVF phases post in my blog.
